Alves de Sousa, Gaivosa Primeiros Anos 2019

Located in the heart of the Douro Valley, the Alves de Sousa family have been making wines in their 25 ha of vineyards named "Quinta da Gaivosa" now for 5 generations. Using a holistic approach to farming by combining nature, a shared history and a personal flair for indigenous grape varieties, Alves de Sousa proudly make properly authentic Portuguese wine. Gaivosa Primeiros Anos 2019 is made from a blend of 50% Touriga Nacional, 15% Tinta Amarela (Trincadeira) and 10% Souzão; with the remaining 25% other varieties being a closely guarded secret. Medium-full bodied, it's packed with notes of black plum, blackberry, cherry, oak and vanilla. A great steak wine.
